One of the fastest growing segments in India post-pandemic has been footwear. Among the top footwear retail chains in India is Metro Brands which runs chains by the name Metro, Mochi and Walkway as also operates the India licence for Crocs, FitFlop and Biofoot. The company has announced Ms. Deepika Deepti being elevated as Sr. Vice President for Marketing, She was formerly Head of Marketing since September 2022.

In my current role here, I look forward to upholding and elevating the company’s many brands by building cultural relevance and value for each of them. My focus will be to keep pace with marketing innovations and continue to build brand aspiration ,” said Deepika Deepti. She would work closely with Nissan Joseph, CEO and Farah Malik Bhanji, Jt. Managing Director of the 8-decade old chain.
Metro Brands operates over 700 stores across various formats in India as mentioned above. Walkway is a high-street brand which targets similar customers as that of Bata while Metro has a multi-brand approach. Mochi is known for its own private label footwear and along with Metro, operates mostly in the top malls and high streets in India.

Deepti has spent over a decade at sporting goods major Adidas India in various roles since 2008, her last role being Director – Brand Activation for Emerging Markets (till Sep. ‘18). Thereafter, she was CEO at Bhaane, a contemporary clothing brand that is made in India for the conscious, urban millennial who is inspired by popular culture. She is an alumnus of NIFT Delhi (2004).
