Global coffee chain Starbucks which operates in a JV with the most respected TATA Group in India has been on an expansion spree since 2023 onwards.
During his maiden visit to India earlier this year, Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan had said that India was one of the company’s most promising markets and the Indian arm would operate 1,000 locations by 2028.

In line with its ambitions, TATA Starbucks has opened its first store in a Metro Rail station. The newest cafe is located at the WEH Metro Station, Line 1, Mumbai.
This is the 97th Starbucks store in the Mumbai region. Over a fourth of all Starbucks cafes in India are located in the financial capital of India.
Located on concourse level 1, the store has been built from scratch and the store boasts a stunning design with a unique glass facade and artwork that truly sets it apart.

The exteriors of the cafe resemble that of a metro train, which has large windows for attractive views.
TATA Starbucks operates over 438 cafes across India.
Since the lifting of lockdown, the cafe chain with over 33,000 stores worldwide went on an overdrive in India opening 100s of stores at malls, airports and high streets.

The company recently opened a cafe at Salem, a city with a population of just over 15 lakh (1.5 mn) people.
Similar to this, the company operates atleast 50 such locations in Tier 2 towns across the country, endearing its ardent customers.
