Indian Retail’s much respected industry veteran, S. Shriram has been honoured as “Top Retail Strategy Minds” in India. The citation was awarded by Asia, Africa and GCC Retail & Shopping Centre Congress at a spectacular event held at The Taj Lands End on 20th Feb ’25.
Shriram is a multi-faceted Industry Leader in the Indian Retail ecosystem and has spent the last 27 years donning several roles, having worked in multiple formats and with top retail companies such as RPG Retail, Central Malls, Café Coffee Day, Levista Coffee, Specsmakers, Indian Terrain among others in various roles and capacities.
Shriram is the first Indian to set-up Airport Retail at the country’s first greenfield and privately managed airport at Bengaluru (BIAL) in 2006.

He was responsible for ideating, conceptualising, setting up and managing 45,000 sq ft of retail space including Duty Free, Domestic Retail, F&B, ForEx, etc., the first of its kind in the Indian subcontinent back then.
He set-up 140 cafes across India for Café Coffee Day at Malls, Airports, Cinemas, Department Stores, Bookstores, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Highways.
Later at Royal Enfield Motorcycles, Shriram was credited with doubling the brand’s dealer network across India to 320 locations in 2014.

He is currently the CEO and Founder of a boutique Management Advisory firm based in Chennai “Miles2Go Consulting Services” since 2014 and has worked with marquee clients including Fortune 500 brands such as ITC Ltd., several family-held enterprises and Public Limited Companies in the areas of Domestic Retail, FMCG, F&B, Fashion and Airport Retail.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Shriram shared his excitement, “I am deeply honoured to receive this award from Asia Retail Congress and thank them for recognising my efforts.
This award is not just a motivation for me to continue my efforts in the Industry but also a huge responsibility to live up to the expectations of the Industry”.

Shriram has also been a Visiting Faculty at top B-Schools in India for the last 20 years and has shared his Retail knowledge with over 5,000+ students since 2005 onwards.
He teaches subjects such as Retail Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Advertising, Supply Chain Management & Distribution, New Product Development and Entrepreneurship.
Shriram is an avid author of articles for various domestic and international magazines such as The Economic Times and The Hindu Businessline.

He has been a Keynote Speaker amd a Panelist at over 100 Conferences and Conclaves on Retail in India, Singapore and Malaysia since 2006.
