Pat Cummins launches New Balance Store in Mumbai

Ace Cricketer and brand ambassador for global footwear brand New Balance launched its newest store in Mumbai. The store has come up at the iconic Linking Road in Mumbai.

A home and hub for shopping, the 2 km stretch of Linking Road at Bandra in the city that never sleeps has been a darling for retailers, small and big, international or desi.

Aussie cricketer Pat Cummins is the captain of the country’s cricket team for Test and One Day Internationals. He is also the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad for IPL season 2024.

Stuart Henwood, Regional General Manager Middle East Africa and India, New Balance said on his LinkedIn post, “A key milestone for our NB India business with the opening of our first store in Mumbai on Linking Road. Congratulations to all the teams involved in the opening of the store, great teamwork!

Special mention to NB ambassador Pat Cummins for all his amazing support with the launch, simply outstanding. Our exciting expansion in India continues!

In 1906, New Balance began as a humble one-man operation founded on the belief that “we were born to move,” and has since grown into an international corporation, selling footwear and apparel in over 120 countries and employing over 8,000 associates worldwide.

New Balance CEO Joe Preston credits the company’s commitment to working with athletes, entertainers, and fashion powerhouses to attract a new type of customer.

If you had asked me 15 years ago, we would’ve probably been a little defensive,” he tells ReadTheProfile website in an interview about New Balance’s “dad shoe” reputation.

Today, we have brand ambassadors from music and entertainment. We have fashion brands that want to align with us and work with us. And we’ve created some of the the best collabs in the industry over the last few years. So we embrace it.”

In recent days, celebrities like Taylor Swift, Katie Holmes, Sofia Richie, Mandy Moore, and Adele have been spotted wearing New Balance sneakers.

“We’re a brand with heritage, and we don’t want to run away from that,” Preston says. “And at the same time, the stuff we’re producing today is fashionable, it’s high performance, and it’s coveted by so many around the globe.”
