It all begam here. The eponymous Tata Group grew from strength to strength across various business over the last 100 years. However, for the group’s Founder and his successors, Jamshedpur has a special place in their history.

Tata Starbucks, the JV between the group and the world’s largest coffee chain has opened its farst care in town.

A proud moment indeed bringing the nostalgia of the old world with the new order of the world where 20-somethings are living their lives off cafes, considered to be the third preferred place after home & work.

Sushant Dash, ceo, TATA Starbucks said, “We are delighted to announce the opening of our first store in Jamshedpur, a city synonymous with India’s industrial heritage and the proud legacy of Tata Steel.

This new store is a testament to our commitment to bringing Starbucks to communities that have significantly contributed to the nation.

With this store, we aim to bring our signature Third Place to Jamshedpur, offering a space where the community can connect, and celebrate its uniqueness over a cup of coffee.

We look forward to serving the vibrant residents of the Steel City and becoming a part of its rich cultural fabric.”

T. V. Narendran, CEO & MD, Tata Steel, “We are delighted to welcome the first TATA Starbucks store to Jamshedpur, an exciting addition to the city’s vibrant landscape.

We are confident it will become a favourite hangout for people to connect, unwind, and enjoy a world-class coffee experience.”

Layered metal textures, bespoke artwork, and metallics capture the essence of Jamshedpur’s industrial roots.

Earthy tones of grey, beige, and green create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while a dynamic wall installation tells the story of the Jamshedpur’s proud connection to building India’s steel production.

Every detail, from the innovative ceiling design to the custom metal merchandise rack, is crafted to reflect the spirit of the Steel City.

The cafe is located ag Ground Floor, Narayankripa, Plot No. 1, Inner Circle, Kadma, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and will be open from 8 AM to 11 PM.

Editor’s Note

Starbucks operates over 33,000 cafes across the world, of which over a third are in the USA and North America.

The company entered India in 2012 and had a slow take off until 2020. In the last 4 years, Tata Starbucks has doubled its number of stores.

With an aggressive plan to operate 1,000 cafes by 2028, the company has to open 10 new outlets a day.

Tata Starbucks has a turnover of over ₹1,200 Cr from 470+ outlets, which is an average of ₹75,000 sales per day per outlet. To earn profits, the ASPD should cross an average of ₹1 lakh per day per outlet which seems possible but would take a few years now.
