In a step towards strengthening its foothold in the fiercely competitive FMCG play, Reliance Group has acquired one of the top health food brands in India.
“Manna” – a favourite among households in Tamil Nadu and several parts of Southern India, offers a range of health foods, which are akin to the traditional ones prepared at home in yesteryears by grand parents.

T. Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said, “Manna is one of the most trusted names in the health focused foods market in Tamil Nadu with noticeable presence in the adjoining states.
It is known for healthy offerings like millet-based staples and mixes, drinks and baby food. Apart from adding muscle to RCPL’s packaged foods portfolio, Manna’s addition will help us serve consumers the best nutritious foods.

With our strong distribution, R&D and supply chain capabilities, Manna would be made available in other geographies – eventually making it a household name across the country.”
Southern Health Foods Private Limited, the makers of “Manna” branded packs, is key player in several health focused foods categories like packaged healthy foods including millets, oats, multi-grain products, health mixes, breakfast cereals, dry fruits, among others.

Editor’s Note
Southern Health Foods is said to have achieved a turnover of INR 110 Cr for FY 2025. The consideration for the purchase by Reliance is said to be around INR 156 Cr, signalling a mere 1.5x on revenues.
Southern Foods’ revenues also witnessed a decline in FY 2025 over the previous financial year, due to intense competition within the segment as well as challenges in distribution models.

On the other hand, Reliance Consumer, through its parent the Reliance Group has been on an acquisition spree since 2021..
It has acquired several brands like Campa, Ravalgaon, Toffeeman, Pan Pasand, Lotus Chocolate, Sil, Brylcream, Velvette, BPL, Kelvinator etc. as well as international brands such as Nexba, PACE, Toni & Guy, Matey, Bison among others.
