Italian fashion retailer OVS S.p.A. has strengthened its India presence with the launch of its first store in Mumbai at Sky City Mall, Borivali, following its earlier debut in New Delhi.

Spanning 11,000 sq. ft., the store introduces a modern global retail format, offering a seamless shopping experience across womenswear, menswear, and kidswear.

With a strong portfolio of in-house labels, the brand continues to position itself as a family-focused fashion destination delivering accessible European style.

Sundeep Chugh, Managing Director, OVS India, said:
“Mumbai marks an important step in our India journey and reflects our long-term commitment to the market.

It’s a city that sets the pace for fashion and retail, making it a natural fit for OVS. The response in New Delhi has been encouraging, and with Mumbai, we’re building on that momentum.

Our focus is to bring accessible Italian style to more consumers and steadily grow as a trusted fashion destination for the entire family.”

In late 2024, OVS made a strategic entry into the Indian market, opening its first store in Delhi.

Unlike many international retailers that use local partners, OVS has utilized a direct investment model in India to maintain better control over brand values and pricing parity with Europe.

The launch was preceded by a unique tram-inspired installation, reflecting the brand’s Italian roots and creating strong on-ground engagement.

Editor’s Note

Founded in 1972 as Magazzini Oviesse, a division of the Coin Group, the company expanded rapidly in the late 1990s by acquiring the “La Standa” chain.

With a network of over 2,200 stores in Italy and abroad, most of which under the OVS and Upim names, the Group offers a wide range of own brands including PIOMBO, OVS Kids, Blukids, Stefanel, Les Copains, and CROFF, Goldenpoint.

For the FY 25, the company reported net sales of approximately EUR 1.63 billion.

Developed by Oberoi Realty, Sky City Mall is a luxury retail and entertainment destination located in Borivali East, Mumbai.

Spanning approximately 1.2 million sq ft, it is one of the largest shopping centers in India.

With over 150 stores and restaurants, ranging from international luxury labels to popular Indian brands, Sky City features an INOX Megaplex and includes an IMAX and 4DX with a toral capacity of over 1,300 seats.
