One of the retail industry’s most respected leaders, Kavindra Mishra has joined India’s largest Department store chain Shoppers Stop group. He will be the Chief Commercial Officer for external brands at Shoppers Stop and will also be the CEO of Home Stop.
In a post on LinkedIn, he shared, “It has always been my desire to continuously learn and upgrade my skill sets while contributing to the organisation and teams of which I am a part. In this journey of learning and contributing – I am delighted to share with all of you that I will be now working with India’s foremost retailer Shoppers Stop as the Chief Commercial Officer for External Brands and as CEO – Home Stop. Looking forward to working with the Shoppers Stop Teams across formats to deliver an unmatched consumer experience”.
Kavindra was most recently with the House of Anita Dongre as CEO since Apr. 2019 and later as Managing Director from Dec. 2019. He led the ethnic women’s wear business to great heights during the most challenging Covid-19 pandemic period. Prior to this, he was Managing Director for Pepe Jeans India where he turned around the business during his 6 year tenure. He also launched Pepe Kids which has become one of the most aspired brands in India among kids.
Shoppers Stop is India’s oldest and largest Department Store chain with over 97 stores across 40 cities in India. The Company also operates 8 premium Home Stop stores, 142 Specialty Beauty stores of M.A.C, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Jo Malone, Too Faced, SS Beauty and 25 Airport doors, occupying an area of 3.9 M sq. ft.
Kavindra Mishra has joined Shoppers Stop during one of the most challenging as well as interesting times. Consumer shopping habits have changed manifold in the past 10 financial quarters – oscillating from extremely online driven in 2020-2021 all the way to a fantastic and among the highest ever offline retail business during Q3 FY 22-23, led by festivals and a booming wedding season.

An IIM-B post graduate from 1999 batch, Kavindra had stints earlier with Tommy Hilfiger India and United Colors of Benetton. An avid marathon runner, he was recognised by The Economic Times among the Inspiring CEOs of 2022. We wish him all the best in his new role at Shoppers Stop & Home Stop.
