Cafe Coffee Day, the pioneers of the coffee culture in India has opened its newest cafe ag Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. CCD, as it is popularly known, was India’s largest coffee chain until 2018 when it ran over 1,500 consumer touch points across the country through cafes and takeaways.
CCD entered educational institutions in the early 2000s with several such cafes across large campuses such as Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore, IIT – Kharagpur, IIT – Chennai, Lovely Professional Institute, Punjab and so on. Due to internal issues and financial woes which plagued the company after the untimely demise of its Founder Late Shri. VG Siddhartha in Aug. 2019, the company had downsized its operations. Currently there are around 400+ operational cafes all India.

In March 2023, CCD had won the 1st position in the F&B category at ‘BLR Highfliers 4.0’ an internal competition conducted by Bangalore International Airport (BIAL). CCD was the first F&B outlet to be awarded a concession at Bangalore Airport in 2007 and has since been in continuous operation delighting millions of passengers every year.
