Diageo India has launched “Godawan The 100 Series” – a rare & exclusive whisky, to save a rare species. Inspired by and a commitment to the last 100 Godawan birds (Great Indian Bustards) left on the soils of Rajasthan, a super exclusive liquid has been sourced from the Godawan vault in Alwar, Rajasthan, India.
The 100 series seeks to raise the awareness of the plight of the Godawan through a tangible reminder of their extreme rarity. A rare, invite only, collectors’ edition drop with all the proceeds going towards the conservation of the big bird.
Vikram Damodaran, Chief Innovation Officer, Diageo India said, “I had the rare honor, privilege and sheer pleasure of living through a year where some of my deepest and most passionately vyed for dreams have come true. And, nothing comes close to the unveil of our #CollectorsEdition #bespoke #artisanal #singlemalt … The Godawan 100 Series” on his linkedin post.

Each of the 100 meticulously hand-etched bottles with gold accents showcasing the last 100 living Godawan’s and individually numbered, boasts a captivating and one-of-a-kind design. No two bottles bear the slightest resemblance, making each a truly distinctive masterpiece that stands out from the rest.
Each and every bottle glorifier is hand crafted with old discarded casks from the Alwar distillery, reflecting Diageo’s commitment to preserve Rajasthan’s craft community. Casks that once held the revered liquid, that now rests in these bespoke bottles!
The first 35 custodians of Godawan 100 stood witness in Jaipur on the 20th of May 2023 to the magnificent unveiling, embarking on a Journey that unravelled the mystique of craft, from humble grain to divine elixir. Each step along the way, the essence of provenance coursed through their veins, awakening a deep connection to the roots of creation.
