Ramraj Cotton, the pioneer in the retailing of “ Traditional Dhotis” for men, has opened its 250th exclusive store at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The store was inaugurated by Telugu Superstar Venkatesh Daggubati in the presence of the company’s Founder and Chairman KR Nagarajan. The company has created a not just a brand, but an entire industry along the lines of retailing the humble dhotis, which was the attire of the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, C. Rajagopalachari, Sardar Vallabhai Patel. K. Kamaraj and many tall leaders.
The company began its journey 4 decades back and hence grown from strength to strength over the years. Through 15,000 multi-brand outlets where its products are sold, the company has created a niche following spanning across age groups and generations. The company protects the interest of over 50,000 weavers and provides employment opportunities to 15,000 families across India.
Having established itself as a pioneer in manufacturing traditional dhotis, Ramraj has diversified into several product categories.
Ramraj is home to a wide variety of dhotis, from daily wear to top-of-the-line premium silk dhotis, cotton, linen and pure silk shirts, kurtas for all ages, inner wear for men and women and bathroom accessories with over 20 brand extensions. The company sells its products under various brand names such as “Viveagham”, Lagnaa – Pure Silk Dhotis, Genext Readymade Pocket Dhotis, Linen Park – Shirts, Trousers and Fabrics, Little Stars for kids Kokhila inner wear for women and Romex inner wear for men.
From dhoti prices starting Rs. 1,000 onwards, all the way up to Rs. 100,000, Ramraj offers something or the other for everyone in the society.
The company has several innovations to its credits, especially making “Dhoti” being worn beyond traditional events and marriages. It is quite common to see gentlemen, youth and kids sport the white cotton clothes across corporate events, day today wear and even while travelling outside of India.
