In a bid to offer their entire range of tea and snacks to discerning consumers, Chennai based Chai Waale has entered in to an exclusive tie up with Indian Oil Corporation. The company will set up their outlets within the Indian Oil fuel stations across the country, the company said.
“Chai Waale a pioneering brand that embarked on its remarkable journey in 2018, has rapidly evolved into a dynamic Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), redefining the cafe experience.”

“With 49 operational outlets in Chennai and the recent opening of its 50th outlet in Dubai, our global presence continues to expand,” Vidur Maheshwari, Founder and CEO of Chai Waale shared on a post in the Linkedin social media platform.
This strategic collaboration enables the cafe chain to utilize IOCL’s extensive network of 33,000 fuel pumps across India, granting Chai Waale access to a vast customer base and strategic locations.
“With the surge in road travel due to improved infrastructure and the growing popularity of electric vehicles, our presence at these petrol pumps ensures that travelers and commuters can conveniently enjoy their favorite beverages and snacks during their journeys”, added Vidur.

Actress Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivn have invested in the six year young start-up that is headquartered in Chennai. The company is said to have raised almost USD 1 Mn (INR 8 Crores) over several rounds from a clutch of Investors.
Chennai based Chai Kings, which has raised over USD 2 Mn from The Chebbai Angels, and operates over 80 cafes in the city, is among the key competitors for Chai Waale.
Other national players such as Chaayos haven’t been able to carve a niche for themselves in the fiercely competitive Chennai market which has over 8,000+ tea shops, which operate from 6am to 10pm.
Globally, Shell Corporation is the largest retailer of coffee through it’s unparalleled network of fuel stations across 190 countries in the world.
Global QSR chains such as Mc Donalds, Burger King, Starbucks, etc. operate thousands of outlets at fuel stations worldwide.

In India, Cafe Coffee Day pioneered the opportunity of Fuel Retailing over a decade ago and was the preferred place for rubber burners across the country for its wide menu, spacious interiors, extensive parking and facilities such as clean rest rooms, feeding rooms for mothers and so on.
