Pepsico’s Lays Chips has launched a special pack as a tribute to MS Dhoni. The former Indian cricket team captain and former Chennai Super Kings IPL Team captain will be seen on the exterior of the Lays packs, which will be available for a short period across the country.

The special pack was unveiled at a Le Marche, South Point Mall, Gurugram. Excited fans queued up to grab their special packs ahead of the nationwide release.

Saumya Rathor, Category Lead – Potato Chips at PepsiCo India, kicked off the launch with excitement, stating, “With our limited-edition Dhoni packs, fans now have a new way to connect with their hero. These packs are a celebration of the colossal fandom that surrounds Dhoni, offering a unique collector’s item for his die-hard fans.

Dhoni’s legendary spirit aligns perfectly with Lay’s – both celebrate excellence and pure joy. The early access frenzy was a sixer, proving fans are amped to collect these keepsakes. We expect these limited-edition packs to be a prized possession for Dhoni devotees of all ages, making every match an unforgettable celebration.”

Lays Chips was launched in India in the year 1995 and has hence become a household name in the country, spanning Tier 2/3/4 cities. The small size packs, sold at Rs. 5 are the go-to snack for millions of millennials while the party packs of Rs. 30 each are common spectacle at Indian households, be it birthday parties or while watching sporting events.

Pepsico generated USD 91 Bn from 200 countries in 2023 and is among the biggest F&B companies in the world. The company claims that its portfolio of products, from sugary juices to health beverages to chips are consumed 1 billion times a day across the globe.
