One of India’s oldest and iconic names in the retail industry M/s Viveks has turned 59 on 3 May 2023. The Chennai headquartered company is a name to reckon with in the consumer durables retail format and has served over 4 generation of customers over half a century.
On his Linkedin post, Vishal BS, one of the scions of the Founding Family and oversees E-commerce for the group shared his excitement.
“Celebrating our retail company’s 59th anniversary on May 3rd, fills me with profound gratitude and admiration for the journey we’ve undertaken together. Over nearly six decades, our organization has weathered storms, navigated challenges, and celebrated triumphs. Amidst it all, one constant has remained: our incredible team of long-standing.”
The company was started at the city’s Mylapore area with a 200 sq ft shop which sold fans among a few other electrical appliances. The family members dedicatedly operate a handful of stores before embarking on an expansion spree in the 1990s.
Despite the competition from new and local players, organised retail chains such as E-Zone, Reliance Digital, Tata Croma and the onset of e-commerce, Viveks has remained a household name and stands for trust and impeccable service to its ardent customers.

Spread across 6 cities in the state of Tamil Nadu with 30+ stores, Viveks continues to earn the goodwill of troves of customers, thanks to their friendly staff members.
