Premium Watches have become a lifestyle accessory for wealthy Indians over the years. Much before the advent of smart watches, analog watches have been a favourite for Indians across the social strata. One of the oldest watch retailers in India is Kamal Watch Company.
The retail chain is currently celebrating 55 years in the horology business. What started off with a single store in 1969, is now a chain spread over 54 stores across India.
Chandmalji Totla, the Founder and CEO of Kamal Watch Co. began his business with a humble 450 sq ft store at Abids in Hyderabad. The store was inaugurated on 21 May 1969.

From exclusive stores for Swiss watch brand Rolex, to Swarovski diamonds and selling among the world’s most premium watch brands such as Breguet, Ulysee Nardin, Chopard, Breitling, Hublot, Omega, Tag Heuer, etc. the chain is a household name for watch connoisieurs across the country.
The watch retailer offers over 5,000 models of watch including affordable premium brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Fossil, Emporio Armani, Armani Exchange, Michael Kors, to name a few.
Ankit Totla, Director of Kamal Watch Co. shared on his Linkedin post, “This achievement reflects our commitment to excellence and the trust and support of our valued customers. Your loyalty has been the cornerstone of our success, and we are profoundly grateful.
As we commemorate this occasion, we look forward to continuing this journey with the same passion and dedication. Thank you for being an integral part of our story”.

With the advent of digital watches, there was an imminent threat for premium watches by traditional watchmakers, who were willing to “watch” before releasing their own smart watches.
However, post Covid-19, the demand for luxury watches, especially Swiss-made have been on very high demand, with certain models having a waiting period of over 2 years.
The secondary market has witnessed a huge surge in sales of used watches, which is primarily purchased by watch enthusiasts for their private collection.
