uppercase, a design-first and environmentally sensitive brand of Travel Gear for the young with a taste for things, has opened its first ever Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO).

The brand creates fashion-forward products such as backpacks, messenger bags, duffels, gym bags as well as travel bags.

uppercase started off as a D2C company in the post-Covid era, building India’s biggest and global D2C sustainable travel accessories brand, focussing specifically for the fashion forward, socially active new age customer while sharing their concern for the planet.

uppercase was founded by Sudip Ghose, one of the most respected names in the travel gear industry with over a decade in leadership roles. He was the Executive Director at Samsonite India and formerly served VIP Industries as MD & CEO.

He has built some of the most successful brands in the segment such as American Tourister, Skybags, Lavie and Caprese, to name a few.

uppercase has been brought to the world by a team with over 100 years of expertise and experience in Travel Gear.

uppercase announces the opening of its stunning new store at the LULU Mall in Bangalore. Three new stores are in the offing in Mumbai and in in Delhi NCR ahead of the travel season later this year.

In Jul. ‘22, the company raised INR 60 Cr (USD 7 Mn) from Sixth Sense Venture, Volrado Venture Partners and others. In Jul. ‘21, the company had raised its seed round of INR 12 Cr (USD 1.5 Mn) from Enam Holdings and others.

In Aug. ‘22, ace cricketer Jasprit Bumrah became the face of the brand.

The backpacks market size is estimated to be INR 10,000 Cr and uppercase aims to be present across 2,500 touchpoints from its current count of 1,600 points of sale.
