The heart of New Delhi has a new eating place. Kolkata’s celebrated dining centre “6 Ballygunge” has opened its newest restaurant at Malviya Nagar in Delhi. This is the restaurant chain’s first outlet outside West Bengal.

With over 20 years’ of rich experience serving varied palettes of discerning foodies, 6 Ballygunge is fully equipped to served the international and domestic taste buds that dot the country’s capital city which is celebrated for its expansive range of F&B.

Housed in a historic bungalow, it is the first retail outlet in India to register its address as a trademark.

Swaminathan Ramani, Partner at Savourites Hospitality Pvt Ltd, the parent company of 6 Ballygunge Place said, “Delhi represents a confluence of cultures and cuisines, making it the perfect city for our first expansion. We are thrilled to introduce the unique flavors of Bengal to Delhi’s discerning food lovers.

We believe that our authentic dishes, steeped in tradition, will not only satisfy the taste buds of Bengali food enthusiasts but also appeal to Delhiites eager to explore something new and culturally rich.”

According to studies, over 45% of Delhiites, especially the Millennials and the Gen Z actively seek unique and diverse dining experiences in the city’s food scene.

Though Delhi offers a whole host of cuisine from across the country and the world over, these seems to be a certain gap in Bengali cuisine that 6 Ballygunge wishes to exploit.

Chef Sushanta Sengupta, Partner at Savourites Hospitality Pvt Ltd. said, “We are thrilled to bring the essence of Kolkata’s rich culinary heritage to Delhi. Our menu features time-honored Bengali classics, crafted with the freshest ingredients and authentic recipes.

Our goal is to provide Delhiites with a genuine taste of Bengal, blending authenticity with a touch of modern flair.”

The upwardly mobile of Delhi are said to dine out at least 9 times a month, with a third of such experiences at upscale restaurants, 6 Ballygunge fits the bill quite sweetly with its offering which include featuring classic Bengali dishes such as Shorshe Ilish (Hilsa Fish in Mustard Sauce), Chingri Malai Curry (Prawn in Coconut Cream), Kosha Mangsho (Slow-Cooked Mutton), and an array of delectable sweets like Roshogolla and Sandesh.
