Bollywood Actor Salman Khan backed apparel brand “Being Human” has opened its newest store in Chennai. Founded in 2012, Being Human is a charitable fashion brand associated with the actor since 2012.

The new store showcases the brand’s latest Autumn Winter ‘24 Collection, blending contemporary fashion with the brand’s philosophy of giving back to society.

South Indian Actor and Director Prabhu Deva graced the occasion with the store opening. Salman Khan joined hands with Prabhu Deva for his 2009 outing “Wanted” with Prabhu Deva helming his maiden directorial venture in Hindi Cinema.

This was followed by the two collaborating once again in 2019 for Dabangg 3 and in 2021 for Radhe.

Vivek Sandhwar, COO of Being Human Clothing, shared his thoughts on the occasion, “We are thrilled to bring Being Human Clothing to Chennai, a city known for its vibrant culture and love for fashion.

This store is more than just a shopping destination—it’s a place where customers can connect with our philosophy of ‘Fashion with Purpose.’

We are honored to have Prabhu Deva join us for this milestone, and we look forward to serving the Chennai community with style that gives back.”

The store promises an engaging shopping experience, with exclusive collections and designs inspired by global trends.

Being Human Clothing’s commitment to supporting healthcare and education through its sales remains at the core of its mission.

Express Avenue Mall is part of Express Estates, the erstwhile printing centre of the Indian Express publication. In 2008, the mall opened its doors and currently houses over 150+ International and Indian brands.

Editor’s Note

Very few celebrities worldwide have a label or a brand for themselves. Actor Salman Khan was one of the first in India to have a brand that that represents his persona. In the last 12 years, “Being Human” brand has become extremely popular across the country.

So much so, that the parallel universe of counterfeit clothing of the brand is said to be significant. And Salman has created a winning model where a major proceeds of the profits realised from the brand are diverted to his charitable organisation. Wish many other celebrities follow him!
