It’s well known that the garden city of Bangalore (Bengaluru now) is the Beer capital of India. It is said that during the 90s, there were a few hundred beer pubs in the city, allowing locals and visitors to socialise. Over time, these tiny pubs were shut down as the city witnessed exponential growth between 2008 – 2020.
Over the last decade, Bengaluru has become synonymous with large breweries, allowing a huge segment of beer lovers to congregate under one roof.
Ironhill, which began its journey in the city in 2017 has opened its second outlet in the city. Spread over 50,000 sq ft., the new outlet is located within the Forum South Mall at Kananapura Road.

Teja Chekuri, Founder of Ironhill shared his excitement on his Linkedin post.
We raise the bar again – literally as we launch our second outlet in Bangalore at Forum South Kanakpura sprawled across 50,000 sq ft making it the largest in this format. And it’s a beauty !
“Launching our new brewery was like trying to wrangle a herd of tipsy elephants. Chaotic, exhilarating, and absolutely worth it”, he added.

With an MS in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Gannon University, Teja Chekuri is a serial entrepreneur who founded the Ironhill venture in 2017. The brand operates breweries at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam, Rajamundry, Nellore and Bengaluru.
“But the real pride? It’s in my team. The late nights, the problem-solving, the shared laughs (and occasional tears).
They’re the real MVPs. So, Bangalore beer lovers, ready to taste what we’ve been brewing? Swing by our new spot this weekend”, he added.

Ironhill opened the world’s largest microbrewery spread over 130,000 sq ft at Bengaluru in March 2021 at an estimated investment of INR 30 Crores.
Editor’s Note
From 300 microbreweries, India is expected to have 1,000 such outlets by 2030.
At INR 1 lakh Crore (USD 12 Bn), the Indian beer market is slated to grow at a CAGR of 5.2% until 2032. From being seen as liquor, Beer has become synonymous with socialising in India over the past decade.
Young employees prefer to visit pubs and microbreweries to socialise with their peers, friends and acquaintances. Higher disposable incomes and social acceptance of drinking a beer for men and women of younger age are some of the reasons propelling this market opportunity.
