Zepto, the pioneer of Quick Commerce in India which has become a Unicorn in less than 3 years of its existence, has announced a FoodTech app, even as it competes with Swiggy’s Instamart and Zomato’s Blinkit.

The Zepto Cafe which has been on an trial basis in select markets will soon have its own App, the company’s founder said.

Aadit Palicha, Co-Founder & CEO of Zepto shared on his Linkedin post, “We’re launching a separate app for Zepto Café next week! The team is shipping an MVP and iterating quickly, so it may not be perfect on Day 1, but it’s worth it to launch fast :D”.

Zepto Café is scaling rapidly: we’re launching 100+ Cafés a month and already clocking 30K+ orders/day 🚀”, he added.

Zepto Cafe is an interesting concept where fresh food items such as Vada Pav, Sandwiches, Idli among other items which are packed and kept are delivered within 10 mins, the standard set by the company.

Zepto was last valued at INR 42,000 Cr (USD 5 Bn) when it raised USD 350 Mn in Nov. ‘24. The company has till now raised INR 15,000 Cr (USD 1.95 Bn) over 10 rounds since 2021 when it was launched.

Editor’s Note

According to sources from the media, the company is burning an estimated INR 250 Cr a month to gather further speed and lead the USD 6 Bn Quick commerce race.

Zepto Cafe is a fantastic idea that has seen the light of the day in quick time, much to the surprise of competitors such as Swiggy and Zomato, which deliver from neighbourhood restaurants over an average of 30-45 mins.

For working executives and those on the move, Zepto Cafe is going to be super beneficial, especially if the prices are kept affordable. This is quite an interesting space to watch.
