Editor’s Note
India is a delight for Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chains, given that half the population is under the age of 35 years. The growing diaspora of people with higher disposable incomes is a welcome opportunity for international chains which are setting sight in India and are competing with homegrown chains alike.

On the other hand, there are just too many unhealthy options in the market, making the core consumer segment – the Millennials and the Gen Z prone to obesity and exposing them to lifestyle challenges such as obesity and diabetes.
Chains like Jamba which offer healthier options are far and few in a country with over 10,000 outlets operated by QSRs.
