Tarun Bhasin, CEO of Culinary Brands. Said, “Reaching this milestone of 100 new stores in a year is a testament to our customers’ trust in the Subway brand.

This marks a significant chapter in Subway India’s growth journey, reflecting our unwavering commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality, and made to order sandwiches to our discerning customers.”

Subway’s expansion is driven by its relentless focus on innovation and in depth understanding of evolving consumer preferences.

Subway continues to innovate its offering in India and has launched 2 new products for this discerning market –

Editor’s Note

Across various F&B formats, Subway ranks No. 1 in serving healthy food compared to its peers.

Though most of the bread is freshly baked at every outlet every day – the food gets relatively unhealthy as the footlong contain various sauces, add-ons, toppings and a healthy dose of non-vegetarian options as well.

Interestingly, India is the first and only country for Subway to opeate two separate counters for vegetarian and non-vegetarian offering, a move that has endeared millions of Indians to visit the place often.

Fred De Luca, along with Peter Buck and Carmela De Luca founded Subway in 1965 in Connecticut in the USA and operated the first outlet as a “Franchised” store, which was invested by his uncle.

Subway is the only restaurant chain in the world who’s all outlets worldwide are run by franchises and not a single is run by the brand directly.

Subway India is said to have an annual turnover of INR 700 Cr., while its global revenues for 2023 was USD 9.98 Bn.
