Editor’s Note

International footwear brands are showing keen interest to cover the feet of discerning Indians. According to various surveys, an average upper middle class household stocks over a dozen pairs of footwear for a family of 4.

The variety of footwear in the racks is also indicative of changing preferences for consumers, who are preferring to wear various kinds of footwear for different occasions.

The estimated size of the organised footwear market in India is INR 15,670 Cr (USD 17.89 Bn) and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.39% until 2032 to USD 90 Bn.
