India’s first original sourdough pizza joint, Si Nonna’s dedicated to bringing the authentic taste of Italy has opened 22 outlets across 7 Indian cities since it began its journey in 2022.

The brand, which began with its first and humble outlet at Lower Parel in Mumbai, has achieved scale with a pan-India presence spanning Pune, Surat, Ahmedabad, Indore, Delhi and Bengaluru.

Ayush Jatia, Founder of Si Nonna’s says, “Our vision has always been to bring an authentic Neapolitan sourdough pizza experience to India.

The response has been phenomenal, and our expansion is a reflection of the love and trust our customers have shown us.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality while continuing to grow in key markets across the country.”

Interestingly, the brand operates most number of its outlets in a single city – at Pune with 7 restaurants, followed by 6 in Mumbai and 4 in Bengaluru.

Editor’s Note

There are an estimated 5,000 pizza outlets in India. Dominated by American pizza chain Dominos with over 2,000 outlets, Pizza Hut comes a close second with 1,400 outlets across India.

Several local chains such as Oyyalo Pizza offer unique offering, catering to regional tastes and requirements.

Pizzerias, which are specialty pizza outlets offer thin-crust wooden oven pizzas, which are not only tastier than the conventional oven made pizzas but are also 2x to 3x the prices of a normal pizza.

With the world’s largest young population residing in India offering a potential annual market size of INR 10,000 Cr., a number of pizza chains are originating in the country.
