In 2025, India solidified its position as one of the most resilient and fastest-growing markets for Swiss watches globally.
Editor’s Note
While the total global export volume of Swiss watches declined by 4.8% (dropping to approximately 14.6 million units), the Indian market bucked the downward trend seen in China and Hong Kong.
The total value of Swiss watches exported to India in 2025 is estimated to be INR 2,850 Cr (CHF 300 Mn) and the export volume of Swiss watches to India reached approximately 550,000 units.

India’s luxury and premium retail landscape continues to witness strong momentum, driven by rising affluence, accelerated premiumisation and a clear shift towards aspiration led consumption.
Categories such as fine watchmaking are emerging as key growth drivers, with consumers increasingly seeking brands that represent legacy, craftsmanship and innovation, complemented by immersive and experience led retail formats.
Designed with a contemporary aesthetic, the space offers an elevated retail experience, bringing together innovation, design and Swiss watchmaking excellence for the Indian consumer.
