Popees Baby Care is a prominent Indian baby and mother care brand headquartered in Malappuram, Kerala.

Founded in 2003 by Shaju Thomas, it has transitioned from a small manufacturing unit into a large-scale retail and export enterprise.

The 107th store was inaugurated by Dr. T.P. Salavudheen, Senior Consultant Pediatrician at Nucleus Hospital, Nadapuram.

Popees has a presence at over 20,000 sales points across India and exports to 30 countries, including the UAE.

The brand has shown strong growth, with a reported revenue of approximately INR 136 crore for FY 24-25 and a goal to scale further through aggressive e-commerce and franchise expansion.

The company uses a franchise-based model of expanding its Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs).

With stores in homebase Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the brand is currently focusing on deepening its penetration in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across North India and strengthening its online presence via its own portal and major marketplaces.

Editor’s Note

Popees Baby Care operates in a highly competitive and fragmented market with leading operators such as Firstcry, Babyhug, Born Babies, Mee Mee, among thousands of semi-organised retailers.

The baby care market in India has reached a significant scale, valued at approximately INR 46,500 Cr (USD 5.57 Bn).
