Trent's Q2 FY27 revenue rose 23% to INR 5,788 crore as Zudio crossed 1,000 stores, showing why its store-only strategy works for value fashion.
Trent’s Q2 FY27 standalone revenue rose 23% to INR 5,788 crore from INR 4,724 crore, its strongest growth in six quarters, lifting first-half revenue to INR 11,454 crore.
The real insight lies beyond the headline: disciplined value fashion is becoming India’s most scalable retail engine, and Trent now shows what that scale looks like.

India’s apparel market is estimated near USD 100 billion, with organised formats steadily winning share from unorganised stores, especially in smaller cities where aspiration is outpacing supply.
Competition is real.
Reliance Trends, Pantaloons, Lifestyle, Max, V-Mart and Shoppers Stop chase the same value-seeking family, yet few match Trent’s consistency across Westside and Zudio.
Momentum was already building. Q1 FY27 revenue grew 19% to INR 5,666 crore with net profit of INR 518 crore, so Q2 reflects acceleration, not a one-off spike.

Zudio crossed 1,000 stores this quarter with 17 net additions, while Westside added 10, taking Trent’s portfolio to 1,342 stores as of 30 September.
The market noticed. Trent shares jumped nearly 12% on the update, even as a few brokerages stayed cautious on valuation.
Zudio’s strategy is deliberately store-only.
At price points around INR 299 to 699, delivery and returns would erode economics, so Trent keeps customers walking into stores.

Westside, with a higher ticket size, has sold online through its own website since 2020.
Trent’s channel choices clearly follow unit economics, not industry fashion.
Trent has not yet disclosed margins or format-wise revenue, so the full results will show how much growth is store-led and how much is same-store.
Still, a retailer growing 23% on a base of INR 5,788 crore, while opening stores steadily, has earned the right to approach the festive season with confidence.

Editor’s Note
Not every brand needs to be everywhere.
Zudio’s store-only choice shows that saying no to a channel can protect price, speed and profitability better than saying yes to every platform.
Online is not wrong; it must simply earn its place.
Westside’s digital presence and Zudio’s physical focus together show strategy shaped by customer and cost, not trend.

Watch the festive quarter closely. Strong response there will prove that a thousand Zudio stores are a thousand doors to loyalty, not just a thousand addresses.
Retailers who earn that trust will find India’s fashion runway long, wide and wonderfully open.
