India’s largest momo-retail chain Wow! Momo has launched Veg & Chicken momo home packs at Rs. 69/-. Though these were on trial mode a while back, now it is being fully pushed in to the FMCG market, Mithun Appaiah had recently announced his appointment as CEO on a Linkedin post.
Sagar Daryani, Founder, Wow! Momo, said, “Constant Product innovation is in our #DNA, attributing to our success. Bringing to you #ValueForMoney momos which are #Healthy #Taste & #Affordable from the house of #Wow. So #patrons who come to us on a monthly basis, the intent is to bring them to us on a weekly basis & patrons who come to us on a weekly basis, the intent is to bring them to us on a #daily basis and those who’s never tried us before, make them our regular patrons” on his Linkedin page.
“These momos are like #CampusMomos and / or #CanteenMomos – students can now afford to eat #WowMomo on a daily basis & enjoy making memories with friends & families”, he continued.
After the stupendous success of Ready to Cook (RTC) brands like Nestle’s Maggi noodles, Hindustan Unilever’s Knorr Soup and MTR’s range of South Indian delicacies, the space is hotting up for momos, a natural choice for thousands of Indians who have taken a liking for this Chinese snack. Though it is a daily meal for the Chinese, and extremely affordable due to its low cost of making, steamed and fried momos have always been positioned in India as a starter at most restaurants.
While Wow! Momo chain of QSRs popularised and democratised the momos, the home packs are expected to push the snack inside the homes of millions of Indian households. It is also a natural item to get added in canteens inside colleges and hostels, small office pantries as well as at tourist locations, where it makes for a quick snack-on-the-go.
