On the auspicious occasion of Vaikasi Visakam, the 2nd of June 2023, GIRI opened its second “Hindu Shopping Mall” at West Tower Street, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. A Elangovan MA. BL., Executive Officer, Shri Kalameghaperumal Temple, Thirumohoor, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries and patrons / well wishers from near and far.
This is the second and a much bigger outlet for GIRI in Madurai, the first one being located at North Tower Street. In May 2023, GIRI opened an 8,000 sft Hindu Mall in Chennai.
The new 3,200 sqft outlet offers a bigger collection of items (over 50 thousand different products) that are used for worship at temples, homes and at all places where Hindu religious events takes place. The Mall also houses one of the biggest book collections in the vicinity.
As part of Celebrations, a limited period offer of 5% discount on all items at the store for a minimum purchase of Rs.5,000/- is being given, along with a special gift at the time of billing.
GIRI started operations in the year 1951 outside the famed Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore, Chennai . Today, the company operates 30 stores across India in all major cities. The e-commerce division enables delivery of products within and outside India. Internationally, the company has a presence with physical outlets in the USA, the UK, Australia and Dubai (UAE).
The management is led currently by the 2nd generation of family members and ably supported by the younger 3rd generation who are playing their part in the growth of the organization.
