On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritihya, on the 23 April 2023, GIRI opened the first of its kind “Hindu Shopping Mall” at Pallikaranai, Chennai. GIRI, a company with 8 decades of dedication to mankind, propagates Hindu Sanatana Dharma and promotes all such products that are an intrinsic part of our Indian Culture and Tradition. Spread over 8,000 sq ft, the new concept houses over 1 lakh stock keeping units (SKUs).
Most of these items are used for worship at temples, homes and at all places where Hindu religious events take place. Items sold include Books, Pooja Articles, Music & Dance Accessories. Rudraksha, Spatika, Panchaloha items, etc. Many of the items sold at the store can also be found on the company’s website.
In addition to this, GIRI has produced music albums and has published various books based on Hindu philosophy. The manufacturing division has brought out various pooja related products which are used during important festivals, events, and day-to-day prayers.
Prominent guests who graced the occasion include Sai Maa, a well known devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba and a spiritual Guru, Sri TS Raghavan (Chairman of GIRI Trading Agency) Isaikkavi Sri. Ramanan, Poet & Scholar, Sri .Vijaykumar & Sri. Siva Narayanan, representatives from World Brahmin Welfare Association, Sri. Nikhil Murugan, Film Industry PRO along with family members, near and dear patrons from long and far.

As part of the new inaugural, a limited period promotion of 5% discount on all items is being offered at the store on a minimum purchase of Rs.5,000/-. A special gift is also given along at the time of billing to shoppers.
GIRI started operations in the year 1951 outside the famed Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore, Chennai . Today, the company operates 30 stores across India in all major cities. The e-commerce division enables delivery of products within and outside India. Internationally, the company has a presence with physical outlets in the USA, the UK, Australia and Dubai (UAE).
The management is led currently by the 2nd generation of family members and ably supported by the younger 3rd generation who are playing their part in the growth of the organization.
