Global energy giant Shell has announced the global launch of its very first 10-in-1 integrated energy station. The concept, codenamed Panlong is located at Wuhan, China and was inaugurated in Sep. ‘23. The site is a shining example of how Shell is evolving it’s business to meet its customers’ needs, to contribute to the energy-transition journey while also maximizing the business value to stakeholders.
As the capital city of Hubei Province in China with a population of 13 million, Wuhan is one of the primary markets in China for Shell for e-mobility growth. Shell has over 10% market share in the city and has 1,700+ fast charge points in operation.
Panlong, with a plot size of nearly 96,875 sq ft (9,000 sq m), offers 10 different energy products and services for customers. All these solutions have been selected based on insights into Chinese customers’ various and evolving needs.
What to expect at Panlong –
Customers can experience a mosaic of offers of petrol and diesel including Shell V-Power Racing fuels at the site. Alogside, Shell China’s very first Hydrogen refuelling site is located at Panlong Wuhan. There are also 12 Fast and Super-Fast 180KW charge points to feed the growing e-vehicle users in the country.
Panlong Wuhan also offers Shell Select, the much popular mini supermarket & convenience store format that carries everything that a road user wishes to buy and consume on-the-go, from water, soda, juices, chocolates, chips, snacks and so on.

Then there is Shell Café, the company’s popular coffee destination like in many countries worldwide. The deli-concept cafe will offer food, local favourites especially, freshly prepared upon placing the order as well as sell carry-on food for the road.
Shell Café sells over 450 million cups of coffee every year, the most number of cups sold as a single brand in the world, surpassing global giants Starbucks, Mc Café, Tim Hortons, Costa, 7-Eleven and so on.
That’s because unlike most others, Shell Café locations are located within the world’s largest network of fuel stations, thereby creating a captive audience as well.
Other than Shell Café, there is also a large KFC restaurant within the premises. KFC is among the most popular international F&B chain in China and operates over 8,000 outlets in the country.
Panlong Wuhan also offers Shell Lube Bay, Shell Car Wash, Autofans Station as well as the “Drivers’ Home” – a place for drivers to rest, eat, shower, do laundry and connect.
