Internationally acclaimed baby-care products brand Chicco has opened its flagship store in Bangalore. The third store in India’s very own silicon valley has come at the Phoenix Mall of Asia in Hebbal, on the Northern fringes of the city.
The two other Chicco brand stores are located at Phoenix Marketcity Mall in Whitefield and a high street store at the prestigious neighbuorhood of Indira Nagar.
The brand has also added another store at Gurugram’s Ardee City Mall, taking its total retail footprint to 7 across India.
Rajesh Vohra, CEO of Artsana India, said, “This has been a truly special month for us at Chicco. Opening two stores in Bangalore and Gurgaon reflects the direction we want to take as a brand: being closer to families where they are.
For us, each new store is a space to meet parents, to listen, and to walk alongside them in their parenting journey.
While these new additions strengthen our presence in two key markets, they are also a step in our larger journey of reaching many more families across India in the years ahead.”
Chicco is an Italian brand with a legay of 65 years and a presence in over 120 countries worldwide.
Editor’s Note
International baby products brands entered India through direct distribution models around 2010, when the e-commerce boom began. Originally available in select marketplaces, several brands have expanded their portfolio over the years.
Post Covid-19 pandemic, with the emergence of quick-commerce, baby care brands have found a haven in such distribution models as well, getting closer to consumers.
However, big ticket purchases such as prams, high chairs and fashion apparel for new-born babies and infants continue to do well offline than online, due to the nature of touch-and feel while cosmetics and other products such as detergents sell well online.
