German carmaker Audi has unleashed a teaser of the upcoming Q5, one of its most successful SUVs.

The Q5 model was first launched in 2008 and has since become one of the most sold models of Audi worldwide.

Known for its versatile performance, advanced technology and sophisticated design, the Audi Q5 has been one of the most sought after SUVs in the highly competitive luxury automobile market alongside Volvo, Mercedes Benz and BMW.

Gernot Döllner, CEO, Audi said, “The Audi Q5 has represented the success of Audi for more than 15 years.

With the third generation of our most successful SUV, we will now begin rejuvenating our SUV portfolio with efficient combustion engine models and hybrid versions.”

Audi will launch more than 20 new models between 2024 and 2025. The company says that over 10 of them would be EVs.

This year, the new electric models commenced with the Audi Q6 e-tron in the spring and the Audi A6 e-tron in late July.

At the same time, the company is rejuvenating its portfolio with combustion engine models like the A5 family unveiled in July.

During 2023, Audi sold 1.90 Mn vehicles worldwide and reported a revenue of EUR 69.9 Bn with an Operating Return on Sales (RoS) of 9%.

In India, the company sold 7,931 units in 2023, a growth of 89% over 2022.

Mercedes Benz India sold 17,408 units in India, while BMW sold 22,940 units during 2023.

With a burgeoning upper middle class in India which has taken a linking for all things luxury, Audi has a bright future ahead in the years to come with a huge opportunity in the mid-luxury automobile marketed alongside Volvo, BMW & Mercedes.
