TATA group lifer Shibashish Roy has been elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer, Croma, with effect from 18 Nov. ‘24. Shibashish has been serving Infiniti Retail as Deputy CEO since early 2024. He joined the company in 2021.
Shibashish is taking the top role at India’s most premier electronic goods retail chain Croma from Avijit Mitra, who is at present Managing Director and CEO and is due for retirement in Mar. ‘25.
The company said on a Linkedin post that Avijit will continue to be on the Board of the company as Managing Director until his retirement.
Shibashish, an Engineer in Production from Sardar Patel University in 2001 and completed his MBA at IIT Kharagpur in 2004. Thereafter, he joined Voltas and later worked at Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Capital, Tata Sons and Tata Administrative Services from 2006 onwards.
Croma operates over 500 stores with 25,000 products from over 550 brands. The company posted revenues of INR 17,867 Cr for FY ‘24. The company operates an omni-channel model allowing users to buy online + offline.
