Editor’s Note
Medicine delivery has been fraught with controversy over the last few years, with the offline pharmacy owners going against online platforms such as TATA 1 MG, NetMeds, PharmEasy, among others.
Their grouse has been that critical medicines, including cough syrups which induce sleep, can be easily delivered and served to non-discerning patients, who order these medicines not for ailments, but merely as a drug.
Offline chemists these days insist the customers to show a physical prescription from a doctor which are no older than 30 days, except in cases where they serve regular customers with known ailments such as diabetes, heart diseases, among others.
