McDonalds and Coca Cola bring new flavours

In what is a testament to the rudimentary mixology skills of street vendors of India, all the way up to bartenders at premium pubs and star hotels, the mixology skills of various concoctions of cola-based drinks has taken epic level with a grand initiative by Coca Cola Company. From the beaches of Juhu Chowpati in Mumbai to Chandni Chowk in Delhi, from Calcutta’s Park Street to Chennai’s Marina Beach, it is common to see consumers lap-up local flavours of soft beverages prepared across various eating & beverage joints.

Now, Coca Cola India, in collaboration with McDonalds has launched new flavours with interesting ingredients that are sure to delight their ardent consumers, along side burgers and snacks.

McDonald’s India (West & South) has embarked on a unique journey of beverage innovation in collaboration with Coca-Cola India, to bring the global ‘Mixology’platform to India.

The company launched new refreshing beverages – ‘Masala Pop X Coke’ and ‘Chilli Guava X Sprite’. It is a revolutionary concoction of traditional Indian flavours intertwined with the classic essence of Coke and Sprite. The four new, fun and innovative non-alcoholic specialty beverages are curated to provide customers an exciting fizzy experience of Coke and Sprite with a new twist.

Abhishek Gupta, Chief Customer Officer, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, said, “We are delighted to bring the global Mixology Platform to India with the launch of Coca-Cola X Masala and Sprite X Chili Guava. We’re really excited about this innovation – great to see our beverages come to life in a new way with familiar flavours that cater to the Indian palette and consumers who want to mix things up! The launch is a testament to the longstanding relationship between Coca-Cola and McDonald’s and a joint commitment to creating new and refreshing experiences for our consumers.”

Both Masala Pop and Chilli Guava variants are now available for order via the McDelivery® app, with options for delivery, takeaway, and on-the-go, as well as for dine-in and Drive-Thru service at McDonald’s outlets across West and South India.

Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd which runs McDonalds in the Southern & Western markets of India serves over 200 million customers, annually. As of March 31, 2023), there are 357 McDonald’s restaurants across 56 cities in the states of Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Goa.

In India Coca Cola Company’s beverage range includes Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Thums Up, Charged by Thums Up, Fanta, Limca, Sprite, Maaza, and Minute Maid range of juices. The Company also offers hydration beverages, including Limca Sports, Smartwater, Kinley, Dasani and Bonaquapackaged drinking water and Kinley Club Soda. Premium products constitute Schweppes and Smartwater. In addition, it offers a Costa Coffee range of tea and coffee.

The Company, along with its owned bottling operations and franchise bottling partners, has a strong network of close to 40 lakh retail outlets, through which it refreshes millions of consumers across the country.
