In a first for a retail chain, the world’s largest and American coffee chain Starbucks has opened its newest location at none other than within the premises of Delhi High Court.
In a post on Linkedin, Udit Shah, Manager – Business Development, Tata Starbucks shared, “Thrilled to announce the grand opening of our store in Delhi High Court, a pioneering move as the first-ever Starbucks within any court in India!” ☕
The cafe was launched in the esteemed presence of the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, he added.

The cafe is located on the Ground floor, S block Canteen, New Building, Delhi High Court, New Delhi. This is the first time a premium brand is getting to operate at a government institution such as a High Court.
That the movers and shakers of the country meet and jostle at the Delhi High Court is one thing. That the clients and their advocates can well afford a premium cuppa is another.

Starbucks entered India in 2012 in a joint venture with the TATA Group and has hence opened over 400 cafes across the country. With a slow expansion phase starting from Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore, the company has a formidable presence across the country.
Recently, a photo of its newest cafe at Varanasi brimming with happy consumers was shared widely on social media. That a premium cafe experience was a hit in small towns was the talk of the town.
