Puma, the iconic fashion & performance footwear brand has entered the Republic of Maldives with a fantastic flagship store. The brands products will also be available on Ecommerce marketplace in the country.
Puma has entered a business venture with Sonee Sports, the country’s sports and lifestyle marketplace and will explore opportunities at sports clubs, distribution channels, etc. in the coming years. Maldives is the newest in Puma India’s syndicate of countries which include Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. For the year 2021, Puma India had a revenue of over ₹2,000 crores with 450+ exclusive brand outlets.
“Maldives is coming up strongly as a travel destination, especially post-Covid. The number of resorts has swelled up over the years and the tourist-friendly economy has prompted good demand and consumption of global brands. We are excited to expand our presence in this country,” said Atul Bajaj, Executive Director – Sales & Operations, Puma India. The iconic two-storeyed outlet is located at the famous Majeedhee Magu, the iconic shopping street of capital city Male.
Tourism is the mainstay of the island nation and tourist arrivals has risen sharply during 2021 as well as 2022 till May.
