India’s homegrown beer brand Bira 91 has annunced its partnership with IPL Teams Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. The collaboration includes will design exclusive team merchandise and beer that truly captures the essence of these teams.

A refreshingly modern beer brand, Imagined in India, Bira 91 aspires to bring flavorful beers to the new world. As one of the fastest growing brands in the world, Bira 91 has built a diverse portfolio of award-winning beers, one for every occasion, and aims to drive the global shift in beer towards more color and flavor.

Inspired by Mumbai’s dial code, ‘022’, the crisp and smooth beer is balanced with delicate hop flavors and a touch of sweetness.

Inspired by the city’s dial code, ‘011’, our Gully Pilsner is made with crisp pilsner malts, and the freshest noble hops.
ABV: 4.5% | IBU: 25

Bira 91 is available at over 500 towns and cities across 15 countries and brews its beers across five breweries in India. Bira 91 has its flagship taproom in Bangalore, where it releases one new experimental beer every week, paired with its curry-shop menu.

Bira 91 also offers branded merchandize across categories such as glassware, apparel and gifts, to make every day a lot more playful.

Established in 2015, Bira 91 is driven by a dynamic team of over 600+ passionate beer lovers and is backed by Sequoia Capital India. Bira91 has raised funding to the tune of ₹2,146 Cr ($262 mn) from marquee Investors such as Sequoia Capital, Sixth Sense Ventures, Chattisgarh Distilleries, among others over 18 rounds.

It has also partnered with Sofina of Belgium and Kirin Holding of Japan. The company acquired The Beer Cafe chain of outlets and Kamakhya Beer & Bottling in 2022.

The company had revenues of ₹718 Cr for FY21-22 and a consolidated net loss of ₹396 Cr for the same period.

The beer market size in India is estimated to be ₹114.77 lakh Cr ($14 Bn) annually while the global market size is around $731 Bn according to Statista. The beer market in China is about $125 Bn pa.
