KiranaPro, India’s leading quick commerce platform, is revolutionizing the industry yet again with the introduction of its innovative “Bright Store” concept.
Unlike traditional dark store models popularized by quick commerce platforms, Bright Stores are designed to be customer-centric, operational 24/7, and support walk-in customers, making them the future of hyperlocal commerce in India.
The details were shared on a LinkedIn Post by Deepak Ravindran, Chief Kirana Officer, Founder and CEO, Kirana Pro.
Bright Stores are KiranaPro’s unique take on quick commerce fulfillment centers, developed in close collaboration with local kirana stores across India. These stores serve dual purposes:
- Quick Commerce Hub: They function as micro-fulfillment centers for KiranaPro’s 10-minute delivery promise.
- Walk-in Retail Experience: Unlike dark stores, Bright Stores are open to walk-in customers, providing a seamless shopping experience at any time of the day or night.
By leveraging the strengths of existing kirana stores—local expertise, community trust, and established customer bases—Bright Stores aim to create a sustainable and scalable model for quick commerce.

KiranaPro is proud to announce the inauguration of its first Bright Store in Thrissur, Kerala, on January 21, 2025. The event marks a significant milestone in KiranaPro’s journey to revolutionize the quick commerce landscape in India.
The Thrissur Bright Store, established in partnership with a local kirana store, will serve as a 24/7 micro-fulfillment hub while also welcoming walk-in customers.
Editor’s Note
Bright stores have been in the making for a while now. The existing dark stores which are operated by Quick commerce companies such as Zepto, Blinkit by Zomato and Instamart by Swiggy are no more than mere fulfilment points, from where orders are despatched within 15 mins from the time orders are received,
Retail instinct is to put these assets to sweat even further, so consumers can walk in to the store and buy products on the go.
With deep pockets and huge funding coffers, it is likely that Q Commerce companies will operate more such Bright stores in times to come.
The only difference – they may not align with local Kirana shops like Kirana Pro, rather become their own competition in the neighbourhood.
