World’s leading toy brand LEGO® has opened its first outlet in India. Spread over 4,500 sq ft, the “Brickhouse” is also the largest in South East Asia.

The LEGO® Certified store has come up at one of India’s most notable shopping destinations, The Ambience Mall, Gurugram in the National Capital Region.

Rajesh Narang, CEO, Ample Technologies shared on his Linkedin page, “This isn’t just a store. It’s a space for imagination, play, and shared memories — brought to life through a partnership rooted in purpose.”

Bhavana Mandon, Country Manager, Lego India said that the brand is looking to open 30-40 stores in India by 2030. Initially, the brand will open stores in top metro cities followed by Tier 2 towns, she added.

Lego toys are already available at top retail chains in India such as Hamleys, Toys R Us, etc. as well as on e-commerce platforms.

The LEGO® brand name is derived from two Danish words Leg Godt, which mean “Play Well”.

Generations of kids have grown up with the Lego bricks, which are also encouraged for faster brain development and to infuse creativity in the early life of kids.

The company, founded in 1932 is headquartered in Billund, Denmark with regional hubs in Boston, USA; London, UK; Shanghai, China; and Singapore, as well as 7 manufacturing facilities around the world.

These places are home to 31,000+ employees in everything from design and engineering to digital technology and marketing, creating play experiences that are sold in over 130 countries worldwide.

Ample is one of India’s leading technology solutions providers and leading players in the retail industry founded in 1996 at Bangalore.

Ample offer enterprise technology solutions ans is also a premium retail partner of global brands like Apple, Bose, Under Armour, and ASICS, with over 90 stores across major cities in India – Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi.

Editor’s Note

The National Capital Region around New Delhi is well poised to become one of the most premium shopping hubs in India.

Several international brands have exclusive retail shopping experiences in the NCR, which is home to several High Networth Families (HNFs) as well as expats who work in large international companies, brands and embassies.

Apple Inc operates only 2 company managed stores in India, one in New Delhi and the other in Mumbai’s eponymous Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) which now houses the JIO World Mall. Tesla is also planning a store in these 2 cities.

The overall spending power that the NCR brings to consumer brands in unmatched and there is a huge scarcity for high quality premium retail spaces in the NCR.
