At the time of its launch in India in the year 1999, Tissot, a member of the Swatch Group targeted the upper-middle-class segment, filling a price gap in the Indian watch market between INR 3,000 and INR 12,500.
As of April 2026, Tissot operates a dozen Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) and is present at over 400 counters, such as watch boutiques and department store chains.
The brand has now launched an exclusive website for India, to reach the consumers faster and directly!

Sylvain Dolla, CEO, Tissot said, “India is one of the most dynamic markets in the world, and our commitment here continues to deepen.
With our new e-commerce platform, we aim to get even closer to our customers, strengthening our relationship with them by offering a direct, seamless and trusted way to experience the Tissot universe.”
All products will be shipped directly from Tissot’s India-based warehouse, ensuring complete authenticity and a direct experience without intermediaries according to Dolla.

Alongside this launch, Tissot unveils its new Gentleman collection, which is now available to explore and purchase directly on Tissot’s website.
Editor’s Note
Tissot’s entry into India’s e-commerce space marks a considered step from its traditional and deep rooted offline approach, as premium watches are an extremely personalised product category.
The brand’s strategy focuses on “omnichannel” growth, ensuring a customer in a Tier I metro or a Tier II city, can access the brand, either through a local premium watch dealer or the new direct-to-consumer website.
For the Swatch Group, Tissot is a primary volume driver globally and a high-growth asset in the Indian market.

The Swatch Group reported USD 6.9 Bn in global sales for FY 2025. The group does not disclose revenue for individual brands.
Tissot is consistently cited as one of the world’s largest Swiss watch brands by volume, typically producing over 4 million watches annually.
India is projected to become Tissot’s third-largest global market by the end of 2026, following China and the USA.
